Breathing out, she knew this was it. The moment of her life where she would begin becoming someone she herself would love. Adventure, knowledge and a new life. Wrapping the bow around her shoulder, the quiver on her back, a pouch with two of her favorite books, a health potion and a quill with a inkpot. With a smile on her pale face, the blonde turned to the window and opened it slowly, overlooking the market square of Anvil. A warm sun shining down on the city above, clear blue skies and the sound of a morning crowd of citizens and strangers...this is all what Lana knew and was about to abandon. Climbing out the window, onto the porch's top and sliding down a thick vine- she knew she could have taken the door, but that wouldn't have made a good tale, would it? -20 Minutes Later-Upon exiting Anvil, Lana was sure to look behind her to make sure no one was following or watching her. It wasn't easy trying to be unnoticed when you wear a long red dress and have long blonde hair...alongside pale skin like a Vampires. People were sure to double-check her eyes to make sure she wasn't one...bright blue eyes normally reassured people she wasn't, in fact, a Vampire. It annoyed her when people do that. But now, no one would...for the road ahead looked peacefully empty. While Akatosh's sun looked down upon the Gold Road, Lana's boots echoed through the intense silence that surrounded the road itself. On both sides, the beautiful green rolling hills had no signs of danger- wildlife kept well away from the sometimes busy road. Only one Deer could be seen on a hill in the distance. This was the Gold Road...a road that, in theory, should naturally get oneself harmlessly from Anvil to Kvatch to Skingrad to the Imperial City without fault. Of course, that was the theory. Who knew what lurked on the road, be it a rogue mage or imp? Lana hoped to see them both!...Well, deep inside, she really didn't. But the excitement was nice. Lana's plan was to head to the Imperial City....for what reason, she has yet to find out herself. Maybe she might stop at Kvatch or Skingrad on the way...maybe. They weren't really as thrilling as the Imperial City and Kvatch was all rebuilt after the Oblivion Crisis....she only knew this because she read about it a lot.
Perhaps she might see someone along the Gold Road's most western stretch on the Gold Coast?

" Almalexia, show me mercy... So I might refrain from smothering this adorably loathsome creature..." As if understanding the Dunmeri's fragrant tongue, the tiny Argonian hiccuped and then peered upwards with big red accusatory eyes. With a heavy sigh, Norusi shook his head and reached a dusky slender hand down to brush against the bone-white scales of his youthful companion. " An-Zaw is hungry, it seems..." the Dunmeri monologued, swiftly reaching into his satchel to retrieve an aged wooden bowl. Carefully he lowered himself to the grass, just off the Gold Road, and pulled the little lizard closer. " An-Zaw be good, now, and sit... Yes?" A gurgled little murmur was the only response he received, yet Norusi smiled all the same, and began to fill up the wooden bowl with a simple oat-based meal. At the sight of it, little An-Zaw began to leap up against the robed individual... And Norusi found he had to breathe slowly in order to remain calm. Instead he patiently held the bowl aloft and waited for the child to calm down. " Now, An-Zaw, we spoke about this... Food time is not play time..." Shaking his head, Norusi once again found himself unable to cease from smiling; the child he had found and taken as his ward could definitely be a handful at times, but if Norusi had no sense of duty or familiarity with the boy then he could easily have left him at the steps of a Chapel. But no Priest of Almalexia could ever do something so merciless and vile. Especially not Norusi Molothre. Lana Wake

Walking along the path, one foot before the other, the rather happy blonde breathed in the smell of home country air. With delight, her eyes spotted the deer on the hill and stopped to gaze at it for a moment- only for it to stare back before it rushed off down the other side.
Coming down the path, halfway to Kvatch, Lana begun to notice the gradient go upwards. Kvatch was a city on a rather large hill...the path up to it is rather steep. She passed several trees and two rabbit holes before both her blue eyes came into contact with a Dummer trying to calm and an Argonian child. Never before has Lana seen a child Argonian. She gave a small wave to try and catch their attention. "Hello there~" Standing by an apple tree, she stood from a distance...before looking up and seeing two nice red hanging apples. Swiping blonde hair away from her eyes, she grabbed both apples and approached the odd duo...offering two healthy looking red apples.

Norusi ran his thin fingers up through his hair when the rascal continued to mess around. Thick black locks fell between his hand as the man contemplated how he might better communicate with the boy in his lap, yet suddenly the little Argonian fell onto his tushie and peered away from the Dunmer, cooing softly. Only when Norusi turned his gaze in the same direction did he realise why. Before the pair of them stood a pale woman, beside a stray apple tree. It was curious to see one so young travelling these parts alone, although he supposed the Gold Coast was rather safe in comparison to the Imperial City and other such inland regions where predators prowled. Frowning at the way the little Argonian seemed to quieten in the female's presence, he took the time to shovel a spoonful of the oat mush into the child's mouth. " An-Zaw must keep up his strength, yes..." With the boy eating, albeit while distracted, Norusi smiled towards the woman. " Ho', Traveller!" he said, by friendly way of greeting, " Norusi has seen none save guards and huntsmen on the road for days, what brings your pale self along the Gold Road?" Little An-Zaw continued to wave his hand at the woman long after they had made their initial hello, and when the apples were carried forwards the tiny reptile tried to leap up to grab at one. " Now, An-Zaw, must behave, yes? Not treat kind lady this way!" Had it been visible upon his dusky skin, Lana might have seen a blush gather upon Norusi's cheeks to the way his little companion was being. He took both the apples, inclining his head in thanks, before carefully cracking one in half and handing a piece to the boy. Then he smiled and handed the girl the full apple. " Travelling can be tiring, you're welcome to join Norusi and An-Zaw here in the grass." Lana Wake

As the apples were taken from her hands, she rubbed the back of her neck and giggled in gladness. They weren't her apples, they were the trees...what if someone owned that tree? She just stole two apples? These thoughts were quickly tucked away into the back of her mind as she knew she had to reply to the newfound Dummer friend and his little companion, putting the returned apple into her bag to eat when she is much more hungry and needing. "I best not rest~ I've only been travelling from Anvil which isn't that far away" she said with a caring tone. "I'm on a journey to the Imperial City...and visiting perhaps all the cities on the way!"
Lana had to keep in mind that she did, in fact, run away....this she could not tell. Keeping a happy smile, she peered down at the younger Argonian and crouched onto one knee, knowing she couldn't simply leave right away after making such a child quiet down. That wouldn't feel right. "An-zaw, you are called? ..My name is Lana~" Lana said soothingly. Deep inside, she knew she wasn't good with children. Having only one older brother and a sister that she has never seen, it was obvious why; there were no children in Lana's life that she ever knew, so being around one took some adjusting. However, being an Imperial, it was expected of you to know how to have a tongue of silver to not just your own kin, but to all other races and ages. This applied now, more then ever. "Are you and Norsui on a journey? A great adventure?~"
On an off note, a lone squirrel watched how Lana simply took the apples off the tree and now little An-Zaw was eating it. This clever squirrel ran up the tree, jumped on an apple, fell off the tree on the apple and carried the apple off to lands unknown. This squirrel would now become famous among his squirrel community due to finding the secrets of more tastier foods within their own homelands. It's funny how a simple observation gets one so far, doesn't it? Nocturnal
